This Danish electro soul duo are bad man! Bad to the bone. I saw them a few years back at Bardot in Hollywood and they blew my mind. Portis Head meets Billy Holiday I think is how I described them. I haven't heard a voice like vocalist Coco Maja Hastrup Karshø's in a while. I think Amy Winehouse was the last voice that got close to capturing a deep soul not heard in female vocalists since the golden era of soul itself back in the 50's and 60's. I would also add Lauryn Hill as a modern day contender god rest her non existent anymore musical soul. But speaking of Ms. Hill Coco Maja Hastrup Karshø serves up a devastating acapella cover of Ex-Factor, one of Hill's best. Check it out.
